TOWN NOTICES:GMTA will be offering public transportation service to East Montpelier, Plainfield and Marshfield residents for those needing a ride to their local public hearing(see calendar)to discuss the US 2 Commuter service. People should call ahead (at least 24 hours before the hearing), we will be developing a schedule to pick people up for their individual hearing and then drop them off when it ends. Did anyone inadvertently go home from Town Meeting with an extra cast iron dutch oven? Richard Czaplinski brought one to Town Meeting for lunch and when he came to the kitchen, it was no where to be seen. I think there was another one that looked similar and somehow, his disappeared. He said that he's had it for 50 years, so if it can find its way back to him, that would be wonderful. Tree Warden At our Town Meeting on Tuesday, March 2 we will elect a variety of town officers all of whom are instrumental in keeping East Montpelier municipal and school government running smoothly. The people in Adamant started a regular Saturday morning snowshoe trail packing trek in the East Montpelier Town Forest in January but since there hasn't been much snow to pack it has evolved into a community walk or snowshoe and we've expanded to other trails as well. Last week we went to
Chickering Bog.
We meet at the Co-op at 9:30 unless otherwise posted on
http://www.adamantcoop.org or the Adamant Village facebook page.
Or they can emaill to find out where people are going. It's a lot of fun
and a great way to find about new trails. Important Dates:Wed. Feb 10 - first day town ballots available for Early/Absentee Voter voting from Town Clerk. Contact Craig Kleman, the town administrator at eastmontadmin@comcast.net if you want to be on an email list that receives Select Board agendas and minutes.
